The process of redesigning the narrow kitchen began with demolishing one of its walls in order to create one continuous open space with the living room – the vivid part of the flat. Old kitchen cabinets were replaced with the new functional layout of furniture, fitting the open character of the space.

A counter with shelves underneath that took over the old wall’s place is both an extension of the kitchen counter top and its subtle cover. The new cabinets were fully made of white laminated plywood. The front doors were set back to align with the construction frames exposing cross-section pattern of plywood. Various cabinet handles break down the simplicity of the kitchen furniture. Apart from the new functional layout, that let the family life into the kitchen, access to light was also improved by installing linear lighting over the new work space of the counter top.
